Keep the lights on when the monsoon hits.

A home battery stores power so selected circuits can stay on when the grid drops. Verix Energy is a Gilbert solar sales company. We help you decide whether storage fits. Licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractors handle installation.

How a home battery works

A home battery sits between your solar panels and the circuits you choose to back up. During the day, panels can charge the battery. The battery then supplies the home in the evening, or during an outage. An inverter turns that stored power into the electricity your outlets use.

What stays on, and for how long, depends on the battery size and what you choose to run. A design starts with your usage and your outage priorities, not a one-size package.

How it works

Four steps from the first conversation to a system that is allowed to operate. Verix Energy sells and explains. Licensed contractors install.

  1. Call

Tell us about the home and whether you want solar, a battery, or both. If it is a poor fit, we say so.

  2. Design

We size a proposal from your usage and the roof, then walk through it with you. No template system.

  3. Licensed contractor installs

A licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractor handles installation. Verix Energy does not install the equipment.

  4. Power on

After city inspection and utility approval, the system can operate and monitoring starts.

Outage backup

Without a battery

Standard grid-tied solar shuts off during an outage. That keeps the system from sending power onto lines while crews repair them. It is true of grid-tied solar generally, not a quirk of one brand.

With a battery

With a battery and the right backup equipment, the home disconnects from the grid and selected circuits can keep running on stored power. That might be lights, a refrigerator, the internet, or a medical device. It is not a promise that the whole house runs for days.

Storing solar for the evening

Many Arizona utility plans charge more for electricity in the late afternoon and evening, when rooftop production is falling. A battery can store daytime solar and use it later, instead of buying that evening power from the utility.

Whether that helps depends on your rate plan, how much you use after dark, and the size of the system. We walk through your bill before recommending storage.

Adding a battery to existing solar

If you already have solar, a battery can often be added later. Compatibility depends on your inverter, your electrical panel, and a clear place to mount the battery. Some systems need an equipment change or a backup gateway before storage can be added.

We look at what you have and say plainly if an add-on fits, or if it does not.

Who does what

Verix Energy

We are a solar sales company. We explain the options, size a proposal to your usage and outage priorities, and stay available for questions after you decide. We do not install the equipment.

Licensed ROC contractors

Licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractors handle installation, including the electrical work. City inspection and utility approval still have to happen before a system operates. Equipment warranties come from the manufacturer. Workmanship is the installing contractor's responsibility.

Solar, battery, or both

They do different jobs. Choose a tab to compare them.

Solar

  • Panels turn daylight into electricity the home can use.
  • A design starts with your usage, your rate plan, and the roof.
  • Panels alone shut off during an outage. That is a safety rule for grid-tied solar.
  • Licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractors handle installation.

Battery

  • A battery stores power for evening use and for selected circuits during an outage.
  • What stays on depends on the battery size and the loads you choose. It is not a promise that the whole house runs for days.
  • Storage can be part of a new solar proposal, and it can sometimes be added to existing solar.
  • Licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractors handle installation. Verix Energy does not install the equipment.

Battery questions

Will a battery run my whole house?

Not necessarily. Backup is designed around the circuits you choose. A smaller battery can cover lights and a refrigerator. Whole-home backup needs more capacity and a panel setup that supports it. We size storage from the loads you want running.

Does solar work during an outage without a battery?

No. A standard grid-tied solar system shuts off when the grid goes down. That is a safety rule, so the system does not energize lines while they are being repaired. A battery with backup equipment is what lets selected circuits stay on.

Can I add a battery if I already have panels?

Often, yes. It depends on your existing inverter, your electrical panel, and where a battery can be mounted. Some homes need different equipment before a battery can be added. We review the current system before saying an add-on will work.

Who installs the battery?

Licensed, ROC-certified Arizona contractors handle installation. Verix Energy is a solar sales company. We prepare the proposal and explain the options. We do not install the equipment.

How long will backup power last?

It depends on the battery size and what you run. Lights and a refrigerator draw much less than air conditioning. We will not quote a runtime without looking at your home and the loads you want backed up.
